To start, I would like to thank Karcher for the opportunity to test and review the Karcher Wet/Dry WD5P Vacuum Cleaner. I definitely put this vacuum to the test and my thoughts are very positive, especially since it has superior sucking power.
I was able to remove the vacuum from the box and assemble with ease. I started with vacuuming around the house to get a feel for it and I thought it worked amazing. It picked up cat hair and kitty litter easily. I did not have to go over it multiple times.
It definitely made cleaning the garage a lot of fun. It did not feel like it was the chore you hate doing. I was able to get all the sawdust from around the tools and on the floor. I was shocked at how clean the mat looks after vacuuming it. Obviously, there was more being left behind with my current vacuum.
It unit is very strudy, has a long cord and a long hose. It is really easy to empty, I did not find it too heavy.
The on board tool storage and compact size definitely makes storage a lot easier.
My husband is quite thrilled about this vacuum as it has an electric outlet on the front of the vacuum. When connected to power tools the vacuum cleaner is switched on and off automatically via the power tool. Of course, we had to give it a try. It made using the tools and vacuum together quicker. We had minimal debris. It sure does make woodworking in the garage much cleaner. It is a feature in a vacuum I didn't know we needed.
While I do love this vacuum, I did try it to blow leaves as it shows in the manual. I would not recommend this for someone who wanted it mainly for that. However, It does work well to blow things out.
I did not have a chance to test out the wet vacuuming yet but It is something I am excited to try. I will update the review once done.
(Update: I did have the chance to use this vacuum when we had a spillage in our kitchen. What a mess. My husband ran and grabbed towels like we usually would do but I remembered we now have a Wet\Dry vacuum and I have been waiting for this moment!!! It definitely had no problem sucking up the water from the floor. This vacuum just keeps getting better and better.
Overall, I think this is a great vacuum and it would be worth buying. I would recommend it to anyone.
