Mind-blowing Picture

A picture is worth a thousand words, but it’s difficult to capture the beauty of the display with a camera. What is captured is a fraction of what one’s eyes can pick up in-person.
Coming from a basic LED 4K television, I had great expectations of jumping into a flagship OLED TV. Without a doubt, it blew my expectations out of the water. Colour reproduction is vividly beautiful with extremely well-lit highlights while maintaining perfect black levels. The contrast ratio is simply amazing. One downside of the amazing black levels is that reflections in the room are more noticeable, but this is remedied by darkening the room to allow for immersion into the content.
Features
There are so many bells and whistles included with this TV that I’m unable to test them all in a short period. It has great compatibility to work with all my existing A/V equipment but has the latest standards for upgrading to the latest and greatest. The Magic Remote was simply a pleasure to use with its motion capabilities. The built-in speakers are extremely decent if one doesn’t have dedicated sound system. My one gripe with all these smart features is that it can be confusing to navigate the plethora of options. There’s a learning curve, but once it’s setup, there shouldn’t be a need to revisit. My favourite feature is integrating ThinQ with my home automation to synchronize lighting and TV controls with my voice.
Design
I opted for the gallery edition as I prefer the more uniform and sturdy design of a full metal housing. It keeps the panel quite cool (which should help with longevity of the panel) and it provides great cable management to assist in a clean flat mount. The thin bezels give it an extremely clean look. I didn’t use the included flush mount and instead used my existing VESA mount. Regardless of the mounting method, it is simple to set up and light enough for me to set up on my own.
Usage
I have the TV connected to a PC for versatility of content availability, but I found myself opting to use the built-in apps. They provide ease of use and have come a long way in speed and quality. There are plenty of inputs available for consoles and other input sources. Input lag is extremely good and I haven’t noticed any delay in general PC usage or gaming.
It hasn’t even been a week and I’ve already clocked 30 hours of usage. I’m extremely happy for this OLED TV to be my daily driver and I look forward thousands of more hours of amazing image quality.
