I got this as an upgrade to my OLED65CXPUA which was the middle tier from 2020. My setup has an LG sound bar(e-ARC), Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, Apple TV 4K, antenna connection.
Things I like better on the new G2:
- Slimmer.
- Nice metal frame all the way around. Feels more solid when handling/installing.
- Nice bright image.
- Flat fit on the wall (using the LG mount)
- Running Dolby Vision/HDR 4K content is astoundingly beautiful.
Things I dislike:
- Wall anchors for the mount are garbage. Wasted my time trying to use them. They either pop into the wall when you apply a bit of pressure to get the screw in, or they start turning and chew up the drywall. GARBAGE! I ended using good quality anchors, saved me a lot of time and frustration - less money in the swear jar.
- Cable management is sub-par. With 4 X HDMI cables and the antenna coax, the clips kept popping open when trying to mount the TV to the mount. I gave up and just shoved everything against the wall. Seems ok but not ideal. This means the bottom of the TV doesn't sit perfectly flush on the wall. It has about 1/4" space between the TV and the wall. The top is flush.
- Running their own OS sucks in my case. I watch TV through Bell Alt TV (online) but there are only IOS and Android apps for Fibe TV. This means I need the extra external device (Apple TV).
I haven't had much time yet to play with settings etc. Life is getting in the way of fun stuff but I do plan on taking a deeper dive into the features soon.
