The HP 27xq is a relatively new monitor on the gaming scene. The HP 27xq has an excellent color depth of 8 -bit, resulting in smoother gradients and more accurate colors. The 27xq has a total input lag of 10 ms, which is excellent among the competition. There is no ghosting with HP 27xq, as its response time is 1 ms. A 109-pixel density on the HP 27xq results in sharper text and images. With a maximum refresh rate of 144 Hz, the HP 27xq can provide smoother gameplay at extremely fast frame rates. Despite its high refresh rate, the HP 27xq scores an average response time of 5 milliseconds, which allows for effective synchronization. In comparison to IPS and VA panels, the monitor uses a TN panel, which exhibits color shifting when viewed from horizontal and vertical angles.
AMD FreeSync support makes this monitor compatible with AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards. For NVIDIA cards to work with AMD FreeSync, the HP 27xq has the Display Port. However, the monitor's 1000:1 contrast ratio is rather low. In games that are graphically demanding, frame drops may occur outside the minimum 50 Hz refresh rate. The brightness of the HP 27xq is lower than that of other monitors. The monitor is VESA-compatible. Overall, FPS and games with high frame rates look good, but they are not quite a good as other higher-end monitors. This monitor is a great choice for someone looking for a middle-of-the-road monitor that won’t break the bank. It is not going to meet the needs of serious high-end gamers.
