Cottonelle Ultra CleanCare…

It's a little strange to write about bathroom tissue or toilet paper as it's more likely to be called. Early on in the pandemic it became a scare commodity. As uncertainty grew so did panic buying, and for a little while it was sold out everywhere. Everyone was left fighting over scraps, overpaying for white sandpaper, raiding office supplies. Thankfully those dark days are over and supply has finally met up with demand, or some people realized they now had a lifetime supply. Either way we're back to having a choice.
When I have a choice, it's unquestionably Cottonelle Ultra CleanCare. I recently was given the opportunity to provide my honest opinion in exchange for some. Pre-pandemic this was all that I ordered for years. It was nice to have it again.
The big difference with Cottonelle Ultra CleanCare, other than a expressive name, is it's structure. For most toiletpaper to be soft and absorbant, it's 2-ply. This often has the drawback of expanding as the layers absorb water making it easy to create clogs. Upon close inspection, the Cottonelle rolls are actually single-ply with pronounced ridges and notable thickness. If there is a second layer, it's inseparable. The ridges provide extra strength without needing extra layers. The thickness provides the absorption without the dramatic expansion. In other words, its far less likely to clog the toilet than other brands. As an added bonus, you end up with more sheets compared to 2-ply which can't be rolled as tightly.
As for the ridged texture, that probably doesn't hurt either. I can grab a some and wipe down the sink without it falling apart instantly when it hits water. In a pass or two it will take toothpaste off the basin, which is a good proxy for it's cleaning potential.
