I have tried a number of traditional pasta alternatives since moving to a low-carb diet. Many of these, especially the plant-based ones, don't actually replicate the taste or texture of traditional wheat pasta. This Barilla Chickpea Rotini, however, is by far the closest to wheat pasta I have tried. It looks almost exactly like traditional pasta right out of the box, and cooks just the same. The texture is quite close, almost indistinguishable, and the taste is almost there. When there's sauce involved, you can hardly tell the difference. Overall, I'm quite impressed with what Barilla has come up with here. I love pasta and hated giving it up on a regular basis when I went low carb. This chickpea rotini is as close as I've come to finding a suitable alternative. Now I can't wait to try it in a cold pasta salad! I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion.
