Conquered the quest for…

In my professional role, I spend a great deal of time working remotely. While time sequestered in a coffee shop can prove highly productive, headphones to escape the cacophony of my surroundings have been a necessity. I've spent several years (and dollars) attempting to find a model that would provide the depth of sound and bass quality I desire with a comfort and fit that doesn't make my earlobes hurt after an hour or two. I've relied on the Samsung U Level Pro for 2 solid years, but the bleed of sound persisted.
An excited stirred with the potential to test the AKG N700 noise canceling headphones. My prior experiences with noise canceling headphones left me underwhelmed with sound bleed, discomfort in fit, and the electronic hum of the noise canceling module (which is just as annoying as the neighboring chatter). These headphones rectify all of the issues! Being a techie, it is astounding how the fundamentals of design are often overlooked. The N700 had the most seamless Bluetooth setup I had ever experienced. I've used them for a solid 2 weeks now and continue to be amazed at the comfort, sound quality, depth of sound and bass, ease of function, and intangibles of playback navigation absent from other devices. The battery life has been exceptional and the AKG Headphone app provides some additional customization that would appeal to the committed audiophiles.
While my experience with these gems has been astounding, these are my minor comments that are likely not issues for others. This is much akin to criticizing Mark Twain for excluding an Oxford comma. The inclusion of the buttons to control playback and calls is a huge step up, but they are a tad small and close together. To not turn the volume up instead of skipping forward a track, I need to remove them (which is still better than digging out my phone). As well, the markings to denote left/right are subtly marked, leading to the dance of putting them on. I'm now getting accustomed to the right side being the power button and I'm getting over it. Finally, I'll often use these to be immersed in my work in my office. I quickly learned that the walk to my car in a busy traffic area was not a safe option. The noise canceling option performed up to snuff, but was not appropriate for my surroundings.
After numerous attempts to find a viable option for my needs, I have finally discovered the balance of form, function and fun I've needed all of these years.
