LG StanbyME
The day I got struck

I am a neat freak. For the longest time, I refuse to get a regular monitor for my aging eyes because I didn’t like that I have to create a space for it. The cumbersome cables, the ugly giant screen perpetually sitting on the work desk where I only utilise for work hours. Singapore homes are getting smaller, we don’t have the luxury of single-function furniture or any other household equipment.
And of course I suffered. I started having headaches due to constant straining of my eyes. I get dizzy halfway through the day. I didn’t know how to make things better.
Last year, I came across some witty advertisement from LG. ‘StanbyME’ was so corny! Obviously the song started looping in my brain. I decided to click on the ad and see why LG is having this ridiculous name.
As a start, I hate televisions. I dislike that they are big and stationary. With all the advancement in technology, they’re just getting bigger and thinner, but they are all still stationary. That’s then ‘StanbyMe’ struck me. I had to view the video twice to awe at it. I was really excited when I read the specs, but I constantly think to myself, how can this be possible?
Why do we need to wait till now to have such a simple multi-functional mobile television? And eventually I got it. This amazing piece of equipment has been standing by me since day one.
