Packaging
I feel that the box was too big for the shaver and the few items that was placed in. As the world is trying to reduce waste maybe Philips can try to reduce the size of the packaging? A smaller packaging is easier for the consumer to carry as well.
First look
The 9000 series shaver feels and looks futuristic as compared to the present shaver I have.
Plus points:
- comes with a travel pouch.
- has a more compact cleansing shaver head unit as compared to the one I bought about a year ago.
- the shaver head cleansing unit does not require a electrical connection
Not so good points:
- disappointed that it doesn't comes with the shaver head plastic cover. This prevents the residual facial hair, if any, from dropping into the travel case.
This shaver comes with a GroomTribe app that will sync each shaves you do and will inform you whether you have used it correctly. Not sure if the phone needs to be near the shaver when it is operating as I have not used the shaver yet. Will update more again after my first shave.
Dry Shave
I deliberately waited 3-4 days to let my facial grow so I can test how well the shaver does its magic. I was not disappointed. With the right pressure as indicated by the colour on the shaving head, I was able to clean off most or if not all my facial hairs in 1 sweep. It was impressive as I was expecting to do it in a few sweeps across my chin.
