A New Generation Alternative…

Pros:
What captured my attention about this mask was the high speed fan that reduces the work of breathing within a face mask by pushing air out (not into) the mask.
The mask has a good fit for me, but I am guessing that there might be concerns for those who have a much smaller face frame (despite the ability to tighten and loosen the mask with the straps). The outer mask is a semiporous mesh but the protection comes from wearing the inner filter. In terms of comfort, the material is not to warm to wear, but I have not tried it walking for extended periods outdoors or for exercise. So this opinion might change if the face becomes sweaty.
I am hoping to try the mask during light to moderate exercise (eg brisk walking or jogging) to see if it holds up under perspiration.
Cons:
The fan if operating at medium and high speeds probably lasts max 2 hours before it requires re-charging so this is extremely inconvenient if you are going to be out and about and intend to use it for long periods.
In addition, the disposable inner filter needs to be replaced (theoretically) by 122 hours if the PM2.5 index remains below 50 (from website). I doubt the inner filter will be very clean and comfortable after about 60-70 hours of repeated use (personal opinion). And the cost of the replacement filters are very high $7.80 per filter (or $39 per box).
Lastly, I have not tried washing the outer mesh yet and cannot comment on how the mesh will turn out after repeated washes.
