Philips Fresh Air Mask ACM066/01
Definitely room for improvement

First impression: Right after opening the box, I was awed by how it looks. The packaging was impressive too. Such a big box for a mask! After reading the user manual, I was a bit disappointed to find out that the filter is not washable. This will lead to higher costs in the long run, especially with sweat. It says the filter is good for 122 hours if the air quality is good. However, in humid Singapore, it is kinda icky to keep using sweat-stained filters for 122 hours. Would be awesome if they came up with a washable one in future.
First try: Mask felt heavy. Maybe it felt worse because I am wearing glasses, but there is definitely a strain on my ears likely due to the fan's weight. The fan did great in circulating the air inside the mask, but there is still sweat on my upper lip with every exhalation due to super humid Singapore. It is definitely better than wearing a mask without the fan. It just takes about a second or two for the hot breath to exit the mask. Speed 1 does nothing for me. Speed 3 was the best. But due to the weight of the mask, I could only last 5 mins before my ears hurt too much to continue wearing it.
I would think that there will be enhancements to this mask in the future. Hopefully they will consider washable filters. I doubt the weight of the fan can be helped because it has to have a motor, but technology always impresses us (Philips is already impressive to come up with this idea). I wouldn't recommend this mask to a friend now, but likely will recommend it's future versions, and purchase them myself.
