Samsung OLED S95C(55
Amazing Improvement

With other Oled TVs I always felt limited by the lack of brightness and thus I immediately tried to max out the brightness - so when I started watching SDR content on the S95c I experienced something I have never seen with any other OLED - I had to turn the brightness down and adjust the contrast enhancer to low from high. And this is with the sun shining through the window during daytime! Game of Thrones’ dark scenes (season 8 ep 1 when Jon speaks to Sam in the crypt) is looking great. For the first time in years I don’t see macro blocking in the dark scenes and I can actually make out shadow detail. This alone is worth the purchase for me!
HDR and HDR10 content looks absolutely stunning as well. Watching a star is born, Bright and the Grand Tour, the colours really pop and highlights stand out in a way I have never seen before, giving the picture an almost lifelike quality. I also compared the filmmaker mode - which also looks stunning and really benefits from the increased brightness of the panel - it basically just adds that little bit that was always missing before and now is as close the a perfect tv as I have ever seen.
I was also wondering whether I would miss Dolby Vision. And to be perfectly honest, I do wish the S95c had DV, for the sole reason that so much of the content is mastered in DV, rather than feeling the HDR or HDR10 options in the Samsung was lacking. Never did I actually feel I was missing anything.
The S95c is the best TV I have ever owned - and is a step up from previous woled panels. The S95c improves massively on the three issues that have bothered me in other oleds - near black performance, colour banding and brightness. It is as close to perfect as I have seen thus far.
