Ear buds

I have had these about a week now and been using them for music playing duties, taking calls and a bit of late night TV watching.
Packaging: Came in a small square box with packaging that was fully recyclable. The sticker stuck onto the box came off easily too. Interal packaging was also fully recyclable. So top marks to LG for making a minimalist box thats recyclable.
Initial impressions: Build quality of the charging box and ear buds looks good, comes with extra ribbed ear-gels, USB-C charging cable and a 3.5mm jack to USB-C which for the broadcast function. Charging pod is a cute little puck shape and fits neatly in my pocket without taking up too much room.
Configuration: Paired with my phone very easily and it directed me to the companion app for download. Opening the app it gives you a little tour of all the features and then you can start to play with it. I opted to turn off the ANC/Hearthrough. Also has the ability to not stop playing music if you take out a earbud, very handy for when you need a comfort reset.
General : I gave the earbuds a 12 hour run in test first to ensure they were warmed up. I tried all the various built in EQ settings but to my own ears I much preffered setting a custom EQ as I found some of the sound stages the built in ones set were too wide.
My phone supports Dolby Atmos so I was able to have a good play with the Dolby Head Tracking feature. I found this a bit odd with music but for podcasts and audio books it really was amazing, especially if you are going about doing chores around the house.
I was listening to a range of music from Rap, symphonic metal, experimental folk music, EDM and synthwave each required me to change the EQ setting as the natural EQ setting was too over powering.
I used the largest of the three sets of ribbed ear gels and they fitted well but I found after an hour or two they started to irritate my ears, this is probably just how my ears are built rather than a fault of the product perhaps.
Charging time and battery life was good, the UV cleaning feature was a neat touch to keep the bacteria on the ear-gells building up and out of your ears. One of the cool features is that you can plug the 3.5mm jack into a analogue audio souce, the pod then broadcasts this to the ear-buds. Great if you are on a plane or have some old-school hi-fi kit.
The ear bud market place is very crowded and to stand out in and around the price point is hard. With further improvements LG will do well.
