Stella Gen 6 Hybrid Smartwatch

I wanted to like this watch, I really did. I love the concept of a hybrid – something that looks more like a watch and less like a fitness monitor. First impressions were good – it was a pretty watch, not obviously a smart watch. A functional piece of jewellery. It was easy enough to set up straight from the box, and although the instructions were limited, and referred the user to the website for further information, it wasn’t too complicated to work out the functionality. I did, however, have to resort to google to work out how to operate the backlight for use in the night.
The functionality reported what I needed – it tracked my workouts (mostly dog walking and short runs with the dog), it used GPS and the report showed me a map of my route, with step count and calories used. Another page will show the heart rate associated with this workout. It offers reasonable sleep insight and associated heartrate throughout the night. It doesn’t show REM sleep. It has an Alexa connection which I haven’ used, and a music control function, which also I haven’t used.
The main problem I have experienced it the lack of connection between the watch and my phone (Huawei P30 Pro). It disconnects from my phone daily, and I have a challenge to re-connect. Initially I followed the prompts, but it didn’t resolve the issue. I had a play around and found that I had to remove the watch from the app, then re-add the watch. It still held the records previously stored which was helpful, but it is enormously frustrating to have to do this daily. I can’t pinpoint any occasion which causes the watch to drop. For this reason, and until this is resolved, I sadly can’t recommend this as a fitness tracker. As far as pretty watches go, however, it can be beautifully accessorised with a bit of bling, and who doesn’t like some sparkle in their life??
