Stereo MS USB-A
A brilliant headset for…

I've been using the Jabra Engage 55 in its Stereo USB-A guise, and this is the variant that is set up for Microsoft Teams out-of-the-box.
The first impression upon unboxing is how light the headset is. It is quite a departure from the over-ear headset from another major brand that I have been using up until now. Part of that is down to this being an on-ear model, and the rest I think is down to the design being function over form. There is no superflous padding or anything unnecessary, and yet the headset has been largely comfortable to wear even for a couple of marathon-length meetings.
In terms of getting it set up, it really was a case of plug and play. My laptop was on, I plugged the receiver in, the laptop set it up in moments and I was good to go. The first comment from a colleague was "I can hear you SO much better now". And therein lies the absolute USP of this product, and indeed, this brand. Jabra know how to make headsets that are just perfect for calls, like this one is.
There are some niggles, no doubt. I have a large head and while the headset isn't uncomfortable, I can feel it really latch on to me by my ears. Also, if you have your headset off your head and not being used for a length of time, you need to press the button on the USB dongle to reactivate it - this was not intuitive so I joined one call wondering why I couldn't hear anyone and they couldn't hear me, even though Windows still recognised the headset as being active. Pressing the button and rejoining the call sorted things out pretty quick though.
My experience in terms of how well I heard the voice at the other end was not comparable to the aforementioned over-ear headset I had been using, as that was superior in terms of the listening experience. On-balance though, I definitely rate the Jabra Engage 55 quite highly for calling because of how impressive the microphone is. There is also one feature I do wish this headset had, and it is something the Jabra Evolve2 65 has - the ability to connect to the laptop wirelessly via a USB dongle while simultaneously being connected to my mobile phone also over bluetooth. I'd love to be able to listen to music from my phone and be able to flick over to a call on the laptop seamlessly.
So, if you want a headset purely for calls, that lasts the whole working day between charges, look no further. The Jabra Engage 55 is really, really good for that purpose.
For any more versatility though, Jabra has you covered elsewhere!
