Elite 5 Titanium Black
Great set of mid range…

The wireless earbud market is very busy, with plenty of manufacturers vying for a piece of the pie. Jabra established themselves early on with solid set of earbuds worthy of consideration. The Elite 5 earbuds are a solid mid range set, which sit below the top Elite 7 and above the more budget focussed Elite 4 and 3 models.
The first thing I noticed with the Elite 5s were the reduced packaging. Everything seems to be using recycled materials and also seem to be fully recyclable as well. It's very small, not using any more packaging than required - a welcome and refreshing sight! There's a USB C cable and spare eartips in the box as well.
The earphones and case feel of decent quality. The case itself is similar in style to Jabra's previous headphones. It's taller and thinner than other manufacturer's offerings, which fits well in a pocket. The case also has wireless charging which is always handy to allow you to drop them on a pad to top up the charge.
The buds are pretty light so sit in the ear well. I also welcome the use of physical buttons on the earbuds. Touch sensitive buttons found on other headphones I find much easier to accidentally tap when adjusting the headphones in your ears. They are also much better when out a run and wanting to skip songs; the physical buttons give much better haptic feedback on your fingers allowing you to control the headphones much easier when working out.
Connecting to my phone was seamless, connecting right away through the Bluetooth menu on my phone. Also installing the Jabra+ app allowed for fine tuning of the EQ of the headphones which is always welcome.
Sound quality was pretty much exactly what I was expecting for headphones around this RRP. Bass wasn't too overpowering common on cheaper earbuds. The noise cancellation tech was also as expected for a product of this nature - it didn't completely obliterate all outside noise as well as over ear headphones can (I tested it mostly in a fairly busy office), but it did a great job for the product category.
One issue I did encounter, was when using for an extended time, the left earbud's ANC tended to go a bit nuts and I had to put the earbuds back in the case to "reset" them. Not sure if this was a fault or something that can be fixed with a future software update.
Overall these are a great set of earbuds, worthy of the Jabra name and building on their already long (in relative terms) pedigree in the wireless earbud market.
