Great Picture Quality but…

I was excited to try the LG C2 55" as this is my first OLED panel TV. I was coming from a 55" 4k HDR LCD with excellent picture quality, so I was very interested to see how much of an improvement the LG C2 brought to the table, and I am impressed!
First off the bat is the picture vibrancy and colour depth - colours are bold, clear and vibrant, but without the overly artificial feeling you see on many other panels. A great start!
I am an avid gamer, and so this TV would be put through its paces for both input lag, VRR and it's 120hz performance. I was very pleased with the low latency when running on both 60hz and 120hz. I was also impressed with the HDR not having a significant impact on this also. The LG C2 Gaming mode settings pop-up overlay was also a nice touch, providing you with some useful key stats such as the FPS / hz mode you are running at as well as indicating whether or not VRR is active. Big win for gaming on this TV - perhaps the best performance I have seen for such a big panel and outside of high end PC monitors.
For watching TV shows and film, this TV also shines in both picture quality and with its Dolby Atmos support. Being an OLED panel, with the right calibration, the blacks are deep without crushing the picture badly, so you can see all the details within the shadows even on the darkest scenes.
Onto the negatives, and really, it's only one thing, but it is a big one - it's WebOS operating system. Though I found navigating menus and home screen fast and snappy, the lack of app support is disappointing. Something as basic as streaming media from your own home media server, for example, is a chore since there are no native apps on the TV for it. You will need to find and download a third party app for this, and you will need to install a media server for it to work. There are not many apps for this so this was a huge disappointment and loses this product a star, which is a shame. Also, way too many Adverts and irrelevant content on the Home screen!
The unit is very light and thin. It looks premium with its thin bezels, the screen glare is combatted well with its bright panel and the Wii-remote like magic want interface using the remote is actually very effective. I will say that I am not a fan of the remote overall as it feels overly bulky and a little less premium though - but it works well.
Overall, would recommend, especially for gamers out there. Would be 5 star if not for the lack of WebOS app support and media server.
