Great first impressions

Unboxing the LG OLED was a simple task - gone are the days when it took four people to move and unpack a TV! Adding the stand took a few screws and it was ready to go.
The start-up experience was nice, linking well to the LG mobile app making setup a lot easier, with little-to-no typing with an on-screen keyboard. It linked really well with my smart home app which allowed me to remotely turn on and off the tv. I never really thought this would be as useful as it is, and it is a welcome addition.
HDR content looks excellent. The picture is very true to life. I changed the settings slightly to make it less 'cartoony' but once that was done, it felt much more natural.
There were a number of connection options which connected well to other devices.
The remote is comfortable and almost identical to the previous year's one. My remote lost sync, but it was easily restored by holding Home and Back until the power LED flashed and it was back underway. The mouse is still the best of it's type and works extremely well, even covered or without sight of the TV.
The home screen is fairly jarring at times. Numerous recommendations that have absolutely no relation to things I view is sometimes confusing to the borderline scary... 10 different adverts recommending children's TV isn't quite as AI as LG have made it out to be. Maybe allowing the buyer the option to turn this off all together - seeing as it covers the majority of the home screen! Apart from the force-feeding of adverts, the UI is pleasant enough.
I would recommend this TV to buyers, potentially recommending the OLED EVO over this one, seeing as it contains the new tech, whereas the one I have purchased appears to be the same tech as the year before.
