Bright and Beautiful

This TV is an upgrade to my C7 that I purchased a few years ago now and I have to say it is worth the upgrade. The box arrived in perfect condition and is very minimalist which I think is LG reducing down the packaging and making it easier to recycle.
Upon opening the box you can immediately take out the box that holds the wall mount for this TV and also the data sheets and remote control.
The box for the wall mount contains everything needed to easily hang the TV. There is even a great template that has all the sizes of the TV's in the range and this allows you to stick it to the wall, level it and then mark exactly where the bracket needs to go.
Within 30 mins I had secured the wall mount to the wall and was ready to hang the TV on it. This again was a very easy task. The top of the main box lifts off to allow you to lift the TV out and line up with the bracket. It does have a slight wobble on the bracket but is secured by retaining clamps on the back so cannot fall. You also don't notice it once you've connected your cables and pushed it close to the wall.
You don't have to have this TV flush with the wall as the stand does allow you to angle it if you so wish.
On connecting my 5.1 sound system the TV instantly recognised it via the ARC HDMI. This worked much easier than on my earlier LG model which often had issues switching between devices.
Installation and setup was straight forward and I was up and running within 15 mins. I then tweaked some advanced settings (I'm not a fan of motion settings so tend to switch them off).
All apps installed fine although at the moment there seems to be an issue with the app that you pick and install apps from as it runs very slow if navigating it quickly. I suspect a software update will fix this.
Onto the picture, I've watched shows in Dolby Digital and HDR and both settings look absolutely fantastic. This TV has the ability to go from pitch black scenes to incredibly bright in the blink of an eye and watching shows in a dark room really gets you immersed.
I noticed a slight issue when viewing a show in Dolby Digital where scene transition had a weird effect but after a reboot of the TV haven't seen it since and am not sure if it was an issue at the streaming provider end so will watch out for it.
Sound:- They've managed to pack a lot into this and it sounds great
Software:- The new OS looks fantastic and is easy to use
Remote:- Definitely needs a backlight for dark rooms
Overall I love this TV
