Interface (webOS) is simple to use.
Remote (Magic) is uncluttered and responsive.
taking the box off is a two person job
The instructions are minimal, because it’s easy to assemble. Just put the TV face down (ideally on a table) andscrew the (surprisingly small) base on the bottom. Lift the TV back upand place it where you want it.Done! Except for plugging it in. The cable tidy design on the back of the TV is really useful andkeeps all the cables cleanly out of sight. Don’t forget to peel off the screen protector once you’ve got the TV in place – the picture is much better without it!
Design
The first thing I noticed was how thin the screen actually is,and a thicker area near the base which, I assume, contains all the electronics. It sits comfortably on the small base and seems perfectly stable.at this point i Stepped back to admire the TV (not even on yet!)
Setting up
I love how thin the bezel (all round the screen) is - very minimalist. The setup is simple as is the webOS interface. Linking up the set-top box (Sky) is easy, however I had to take a guess at the correct “manufacturer” (there are various Sky options). Having chosen one, the Magic Remote also allows me to control most of the Sky functions. It may not be quite as easy as using the dedicated Sky remote, but a few days in and I don’t even use the Sky remote anymore!
Living with your new LG OLED TV
I’ve only had it a few days but I’ve already become comfortable with it. The picture is extremely crisp andclear. I’ve tried the various picture settings andI find “Eco”is actually the nicest for general viewing and probably “Filmmaker” for watching movies but Iv not decided yet., blacks are black, whites is white andeverything in between is what the chosen mode decides. Sound is great, perfectly loud and clear for such a thin unit. Using"AI Sound Pro”mode gives the best all-round performance. I had thought of getting a sound bar but no need.
The Magic Remote can take a while to get used to as I keep trying to point it at the screen – no need.its not got a lot of buttons but gives you plenty of control an is easy touse.
I need to spend more time watching the TV to try out all the options in different lighting scenarios– time to binge watch some tv
