OLED65C24LA
Amazing picture and simple…

So I got the OLED65C24LA about a week ago. The first bit of advice I’ll give is read the stand assemble instructions clearly. I found them a bit small and missed the part showing 2 angled screws that should go into the base. I ended up watching a youtube video which showed where these went and had to then remove the stand from the tv so I could screw in the remaining 2 screws that I had missed. Luckily the TV is lighter than you would expect for it’s size.
I loved the plastic attachments at the back of the tv that let you channel the cables behind the stand and keep them hidden out of sight.
I had upgraded from a 6 year old LG OLED so knew the picture would be amazing. I wasn’t disappointed. The blacks are great like on all oled’s. The biggest upgrade in terms of picture quality for me was on the standard definition sources. On the old tv you could see a lot more pixelation and visible vignettes sometimes. I do miss the 3d function though from my previous set and wish manufacturers would bring it back. 3d blu rays were amazing on my old oled TV.
The screen itself is more reflective under some light condition than my previous TV so you may need to place it in a darker area of a room to minimise this.
Setting the tv up was a breeze. Disney Plus, Netflix and all the usual apps worked like a charm on the tv. Tunning the TV channels seemed much quicker and the whole interface was much quicker than my old TV. The web os operating system works really well. The TV EPG seemed nice and clear. I haven’t really tested the Freeview play on the tv much. The magic remote is still really good and after having used one of these you won’t want to go back to a traditional remote.
I haven’t got round to testing the tv sound directly as I use a Sonos Arc soundbar with surrounds and sub for audio. This integrated great with the Disney, Netflix and Prime apps. Just make sure you use the Earc HDMI slot to connect it if you have a sound bar. On my previous tv I needed a separate box called an arcana to get Dolby Atmos to my surround set up. I think I needed to change the A TV sound output option to auto as the default option was stereo and after that the Atmos sound worked with all the apps I tested and my game consoles.
I tested with a Nvidia shield, PS5 and Xbox series X. all worked great and the picture quality was fantastic from the get go. On all my previous tv’s I’ve always used a colour calibration set up disc but didn’t feel the need for this TV due to the picture being so good out of the box. As the inbuilt TV apps work so well that I might be retiring the NVidia shield soon.
All in all a great tv with superb picture quality and really easy to use. You won’t be disappointed if you choose to buy this TV.
