Beware of the small print
04/03/2022 10:14
The printer is sleek and aesthetically pleasing, well packed and easy to assemble, the cable is a little too short for what I need being 1.2m I really need at least 2m personally. The paper tray is a bit difficult to set correctly, ink goes in fine, wireless connection is straight forward BUT 12 months ink subscription is a REAL ISSUE for me. The max allowance during the "Free 12 month trial" only allows 700 pages of paper or 350 if double sided after which there is a significant charge of £1 per 15 sheets thereafter. As a small business owner, this is an insufficient allowance for me. There is a rollover of unused allowance that does carry forward if unused. I have learnt however that additional allowance can be negotiated if needed.
The glass plate lid is very heavy and easily wrenched, as there appears to be no mechanism to suppress the inertia and therefore I could imagine at a small business level this may lead to ultimate damage after a time.
I needed to call HP when I had a paper jam in the mechanism as there are no instructions provided to deal with this and I was directed to a You Tube demonstration to help me
The scanner can (Has) been networked but in order to name the scanned document it is like doing it on a phone ABCD EFGH etc. so probably easier to do once stored. It is quite noisy and slow to print and has an option to be quieter BUT that also makes it slower. Print quality is however excellent.
My view is that this printer is good for home use but not in my view sufficient for office work as it is too restrictive and ultimately cheaper for me to buy cartridges after the trial than continue to subscribe.
