A great machine but some…

Having been an IT professional for nearly 20 years, I have experienced 100's of different HP printers. We had a change of circumstances recently where I have been working almost entirely from home and my 3 kids are now permanently home schooled. So our previous deskjet model was struggling to keep up with the throughput.
I was already subscribed to the monthly plan for 300 pages and enjoyed the service and ease of getting the cartridges as and when needed.
The setup was really straightforward, plug in, and fire the app up to run through the setup. Opted for wireless connectivity, which was easily completed using the WPS option from my router.
My first impressions were great, the printer was incredibly quick, duplex with vivid colours and top quality printing.
Since about day 3 or 4, I have been experiencing intermittent connectivity issues across our whole household. The printer would show offline and it was happening across all our devices. Having completed some troubleshooting steps myself and then running through the steps shown on the app, it would come back to life but then 24 hours later, it would be offline again.
Since I decided to wipe the machine and start everything back up again, assigned a static IP address rather than DHCP it appears to be much more stable, but it was a disappointing start. One other issue I have found was the volume, now there is a quiet print option but it considerably reduces the overall print speed.
Even with these initial issues, I do continue to be impressed by the speed and quality of the machine, along with a very nice addition of the secure printing.
Having tried a range of paper weights and sizes. Including some gloss HP paper for printing some photos using the app to send direct from OneDrive I think this will be a good asset to the house. But I would just say that I wouldn't rely on this new WiFi AutoHeal that they are claiming, either you need to instigate yourself or its not auto healing!
Either way, the support has always been good and I would recommend to any people in similar positions looking to get a solid printer for a small office or heavy printing household.
