HP DeskJet 2722e All-in-One
Why so hard to set up

I’ve had a HP wireless printer in the past but found that connecting it was difficult so I’d hoped that as technology has moved on it would be easier now.
Well it’s not!
I don’t understand why it can’t be as simple as connecting the printer to my network but you need to press buttons, go to links, change settings and still have issues unless you’ve got premium WiFi connection.
30 minutes on the phone to customer services still didn’t help as they couldn’t understand what I was trying to do. I ended up taking it to a friends house who has top speed broadband to connect it to instant ink. Then it refused to print, just constantly trying to connect! Turned it off and back on again and it worked, finally!
Printing quality is ok for everyday purposes but I wouldn’t print any photos with it, the quality isn’t sharp enough and it’s still quite noisy on quiet mode.
It takes up a lot of desk space but paper is still fed from the top when there’s plenty of room for a dedicated tray, I suppose it’s because it’s a cheaper end printer.
I don’t think it’s worth the £55 asking price, I suspect some of that is to offset the cost of the 6 months instant ink included. In reality you get a printer worth about £30.
A little warning, once you activate the instant ink subscription you can’t use the cartridges if you decide to cancel, they’re rendered useless, even if you still have the ones included with the printer, the ones you’ve already paid for!
Instant Ink is a very good idea if you use a lot of ink and print a regular amount each month but not worth it if you just print the odd letter or label.
I think I’d be tempted to get a more expensive package if I had a printer that produced great quality photos, this one isn’t good enough for that.
I was unhappy with my previous HP printer and this hasn’t changed my opinion.
