A stunning screen!

Unpacking the LG C1 55-inch TV and assembling was a really good experience. The sides of the box being able to slide off made getting the TV out a breeze and a lot easier than TVs I’ve got in the past. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and it was assembled and ready to set up within about 30 casual minutes. The TV is actually heavier than I thought it would be, especially considering how mind-boggling slim the screen is, but it is still pretty light for the size of TV. The lower portion of the TV at the back had a bit of width to it, but nothing major, and still would be classed as slim in terms of TVs this size.
Once the TV was switched on it began the setup process. This was a breeze and each step was clear and concise. The LG Magic Remote is an interesting idea. I’m still not 100% sure about it for general use, but for using the onscreen keyboard, it’s amazing. 5-10 minutes and the TV was fully up and running. The UI is nice and feels snappy and responsive. Apps are responsive and all the apps I would use were available and worked well.
On to the visuals; the screen is stunning. The colours are beautiful and the definition is incredibly sharp, crisp and defined. I’d imagine this is to do with the OLED pixels being able to have amazing contrast ratios and there is no light bleed/blending from backlights. As always when I get a new TV or computer monitor, I get some 4K UHD HDR content on the go straight away, and this screen ticks all the boxes. Without a doubt, the screen is the highlight of this product. Basically, it’s the best screen I’ve seen, ever. Absolutely fantastic. There are plenty of in-depth online reviews that go into the detailed specs and numbers of the screen, but having had a top of the range TV from a competitor for a couple of years, I can 100% see a noticeable difference. This screen is top, top notch.
With gaming, I really noticed the decrease in latency from my previous TV. The TV feels super responsive and sharp. Visuals are sharp and I didn’t really notice any major ghosting or artefacts when moving the view about quickly.
The sound is decent, but I feel that compared to the refined and pretty much perfect visuals, the sound is lacking something. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it just feels like it is missing something. It’s not bad at slightly higher levels, but in the evening when we’re watching or gaming and we have to keep the volume low so as not to wake the kid, it just seems to lose its presence.
