I will be reviewing my overall experience buy and using this LG OLED TV
LG Website and Ordering
I found the LG website to be not very responsive while navigating the pages. Ordering the TV was a very big problem. Initially the website would not accept my credit card. I checked the order wasn't being blocked by the credit card company. The credit card company confirmed the order was allowed and the problem was with the merchant (LG/Digital River). I tried different cards and paypal, all were rejected. Eventually the website accepted my Credit Card for the order to be rejected the following day. This happened 2 times, the 3rd order was fortunately successful.
Not a great start to life with an LG product.
Delivery
The delivery of the TV was handled through Panther. I have not heard of this company before but they were great. I got to choose when the TV could be delivered, then i was informed of the delivery window the night before and on the day i got a call from the delivery driver informing me i was next.
TV
The initial setup of the TV very simple. There was a simple wizard to guide you through the setup process. This got the TV connected to your WIFI network and it attempted to detect all the devices connected to it. With my setup, i just have an AV receiver connected to the TV and all my devices connected to the AV receiver.
The picture quality of the TV is amazing, i have chosen to customise the colours of the TV based on the settings on rtings website. This has produced a very lifelike image. The colour reproduction is perfect.
To control the TV you can use their remote, The remote uses a pointer where you move a mouse pointer on the screen to navigate the menu. I am not a big fan of this as i press the button the select the menu, the mouse pointer has moved off the menu item. I just use the normal buttons now.
There does seem to be a bug at the moment. I have turned off the option to turn the TV off after 4 hours, but the TV still turns off after 4 hours. I am sure this will be fixed in a future firmware update.
Since having the TV there have been 3 firmware updates, They don't say what if being fixed/introduced but it does show to me that they are actively fixing issues and improving things.
Overall
Despite the rocky start with the LG website, The TV is great and i would highly recommend it to others
