LG's OLED TVs are ahead…

As an owner of an LG B8S (2018) and last year's CX, I have had the opportunity to try out this year's C1 model. As such, I am going to be drawing upon comparisons of both previous models.
Firstly, the set up of the TV was relatively straightforward, though does require two people to gently lift the TV. The initial picture set up is quick, but I did notice that the LG mistakenly named our Sky Box (though this can be changed in the settings). In addition to this, I have had trouble setting up the Magic Remote (more on the remote below) to control other equipment. Yet, this was easier to do on the CX.
The design element of the C1 is akin to the CX with the lowered and flat, wider stand. This TV replaced our B8S and one notable issue was that this made it awkward to place a soundbar below the TV. There is not enough clearance space that the B8S allows due to its heightened stand. With that said, upon initial glance, it's almost impossible to distinguish between the CX and C1. However, the design itself is sleek anyway.
A new change for this year's model is the remote. The previous model's remotes were rounded and the scroll wheel is not so comfortable. The C1 remote is a lot nicer to hold and use. It also provides many more direct access to apps with specific buttons for commonly used streaming services.
The next notable change is the home screen. The previous models had the home button bring up tiles The C1 takes you to a hub and full screen page with all sorts going on. My personal preference is the tiles, as you can still view what you are currently watching. The C1 actually seemed a little slower in this department, despite the upgraded processor. The new layout seems more geared towards promos.
The picture quality of the C1 and CX are very close. Again, almost indistinguishable. Of course, there is a notable difference from the B8S, as would be expected given the time difference. The C1 and CX come with HDMI 2.1 ports, which is very useful for new gen gaming (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X). In terms of gaming, the difference here is that the C1 has a game optimiser option, that you can change quickly. Gaming is a treat on both the C1 and CX, and honestly it is very hard to tell the difference. 4K content is sublime on all 3 models mentioned, but the CX and C1 are almost on par.
Overall, I would say this is a fantastic TV and worth getting if you do not have a relatively recent model. However, a good deal on the CX is better value.
