Ticks all the boxes!

Unboxing this beast of a TV was a satisfying yet slightly scary experience - the open bottomed design makes the TV easy to remove from the packaging, but the fragility of the thin screen made me nervous. Lifting and moving the TV is a two-person job. I found the stand surprisingly sturdy - the anti-slip rubber ensures that it won't move.
Hooking up the TV was made easy by the side mounted HDMI ports - but the rear port is an odd choice as there's plenty of room in the side panel. I noted that the power cable is integral to the system - I would have liked a discrete cable. LG have dropped the AV ports on these models, so if your kit uses older tech, you'll be buying converters.
Setup left a good impression - Wi-Fi was easy to configure and the auto detection of my streaming stick and DVR was nice. Setting up ThinQ home control was a little fiddly, but you only have to do it once - and it works well.
The smart interface is responsive but is too cluttered for my taste and lacks a clear design direction. It includes a 'home hub', seperate from settings, which did confuse me. The smart apps themselves All work as you would expect and are nice and snappy to use.
I've watched a fair amount of 4k HDR content, and the colour reporoduction is second to none. I watch a lot of scifi, and the deep blacks make the space scenes incredible viewing. Watching disney/pixar really showcased their use of colour.
I'm a PC gamer, so I was excited to try out the VRR and low latency modes. I've tested with two of my favourite games and it is majestic. There is one caveat with the 'game mode' - when using low latency mode, the TV can have issues with Bluetooth audio.
About Audio, the built-in speakers are good but eclipsed by a midrange soundbar with subwoofer. I was very happy to find that the LG sound sync is compatible with my nearly decade-old LG soundbar, which made getting set up a breeze.
There is one feature that has flawlessly implemented - HDMI-CEC. This is a great user experience - when I come in frazzled from a day out with my toddler and shout my smart speaker to play Bluey. My TV turns on, switches to the streaming stick and plays her favourite TV show.
All in all, if you're looking for the premium TV, movie and gaming experience, this is it. While there are some issues with design consistency in the menus, and some stuff is a little finicky to configure, overall, this is an excellent TV and a worthy addition to any entertainment system.
