Quiet, fast and economical…

I live alone but I still get family sized loads of washing, especially when it comes to clean bedding & towels - which triples when my son and his girlfriend come to visit!
They came just a couple of days before arrival of my new machine so I held wash day back.
I was in luck with dry weather and put my bedding in to start and wanted to use up some old washing powder. My last machine drawer had the fabric conditioner holder in between pre-wash and normal whereas this one is to the right - much easier to add powder without affecting the conditioner! This drawer also has a drop down flap for using washing liquid; I found you have to remove the drawer to change this, but it's easy to do.
The machine runs very quietly and the first I knew of it being ready was a shrill beeping - quite repetitive and I will probably turn mine off, but good to know when it's ready for round 2!
I hung my sheets out before reloading the machine, this time with towels. I didn't want to overload the machine but at the same time, these towels were only used a couple of times so I put these on a shorter cotton wash. Again, very easy to twist the knob to cotton's and then a touch sensitive, flush to machine button, to reduce the wash to barely dirty.
Once more, faster than my old machine, my towels were ready with that beeping noise and so I hung them out.
Onto my usual washloads, I chose the synthetics program to wash my coloureds - the spin speed on this was slower at 1400rpm, but as there were denims among it, I spun them on 1600 at the end of the wash which left even the heaviest materials only slightly damp. My last wash was my white/lights which just needed a quick freshen up so I chose the 20 minute program.
At the end of the day, I brought my washing back in and rather than hang it all around my flat to air off, I thought I would take advantage of the dryer in my machine. I chose sensor cupboard dry and my towels, cotton undies and synthetics were all ready to put away after approximately 45 minutes.
I washed a couple of jumpers on the 20 minute cycle and followed up with a sensor dry on low setting which again were ready from dirty to clean and dry in less than an hour.
I didn't dry my sheets as they were ironing dry from the garden.
My new machine is slightly less deep so I've won a kitchen drawer back and if I really had to criticise anything, it would be the program button to be flush like the other buttons, but there is a child lock option so this is purely aesthetics. ?
