Unexpectedly fun but bad…

The watch arrives nicely presented and looks good quality. I was really happy to see that the (metal) strap is adjustable rather than requiring links adding/removing.
Connecting to the app was a smooth process with no issues. With no instruction book it needs commitment to play around with both the customisations in the app AMA the actual use of the functions and buttons on the watch. I love how you can make a variety of faces and button combinations and change things around as often as you like.
I had fun styling my watch face. There are 'stickers' and you can add text as well as choosing the layout of elements. One really fun feature is that you can display a photograph. I immediately uploaded a few photos of my children to the app and now I can have changing photos on my wrist, which I really do like. It does make it a little harder to access some of the 'smart' features so I tend to alternate photo screens with standard icon ones.
As for features, it really is packed with them. From the heart rate monitor and step counter to notifications and music, it then moves on to weather (eg. likelihood of rain and temperature) and a stopwatch and timer. Being able to answer (or reject) calls is a feature I never expected to use but now find very handy. For example, when I'm in a meeting or on the bus I can quickly send a call to voicemail without needing to dig out my phone.
So, you can probably tell that I really like this watch. It's a bit unexpected because I wasn't sure I had a need for a smart watch. I love watches for their visual appeal so an Apple Watch was never going to cut it. The style of this means I can happily wear it every day although I'm now concerned that I won't switch it out for any of my other lovely watches. Can't really wear two!
Oh, and I must mention that battery life is excellent - I got over a week out of it.
Negatives (yes, there are some). Basically the step counter tells lies! It told me I'd done 6000 steps when I hadn't even left the house! It confuses steps and general arm movement, and it sometimes thinks I’m doing a workout when I’m just making the bed. Heart rate is also dodgy except when you specifically ask for a reading.
The other annoying thing is that, with my iPhone, if I don’t clear notifications on my phone then it’s not possible to permanently clear them from the watch.
With a few little improvements, this watch would be perfect. As it is, I like it but I’m not sure I’m a total convert.
