Nice coffee but pricey

The machine is great - sleek design and modern looks make it a nice addition to any kitchen counter. The opening mechanism is great - no messy twisting and forcing in lids, it smoothly opens and closes the pod holder at the touch of a button. The coffee selection is really good, and perfect for long black lovers - this is one of a very few machines that deliver mug sized black coffee with a good strength and flavor. The machine came with a 100 pods and 2 months subscription free (1st and 6th month only) which is a good deal considering the price. The downside is that capsules are expensive and over time the machine will work out quite pricey. For someone like me who drinks 2 coffees a day plus another 2 for my partner the cost would be not sustainable (around £2 a day) if not for the special offer. Lack of third party capsules also limits potential savings.
The mechanics of the Virtuo machine, i.e. spinning of the capsule while brewing, is a gimmick and I don't think it makes much of a difference in taste. While it makes a nice foam when mixed with frothy milk, a half inch holey foam on a black coffee quickly turning into messy looking mud is not needed.
Nethertheless the machine is good, coffee tastes nice and machine looks nice. I would recommend it
