Very effective cleaner,…

First impressions: I like the look of the product (red and black). I find the light at the front quite helpful for seeing what to pick up, although my sister doesn't find it that useful.
Positives: This hoover is amazing at picking up hair - the brush filled up completely after hoovering a couple of rooms that had recently been hoovered with another model. The brush is also very easy to remove to clean - it's just a single clip. The suction is pretty powerful, especially when you turn on the turbo power (although the button for that is not too obvious!). It's pretty easy to remove the top section to use it as a handheld, or for ease or charging. It seems to charge fairly quickly, and holds a decent charge.
Negatives: the placement of the on/off button is a bit awkward. You are always turning it on or off without meaning to. Having the cylinder at the top makes it feel quite unstable and means it is difficult to empty it without taking the shaft off first. The various accessories can't be stored on the body of the hoover, because it is so slim, but that means you have to find somewhere else to store them, and are therefore less likely to use them. The instructions are very unclear. They are just pictures with no words. To release the catch that keeps the hoover upright you apparently have to just pull, but it makes such a horrible snapping sound that we thought we had broken it the first time we did it! It's become less stiff with use.
The accessories are generally good. I like the dusting attachment but it was hard to slide the little brush down the crevice tool to turn it in to a dusting tool, even after I figured out which button to press. The crevice tool is great for the car, and I love the fact that you can put it on the end of the shaft for tight spots like the side of the bed, but I found that it was still too short to reach down the back of the bed (over the headboard). This mix 'n' match thing is one of the best things about the hoover; you can even fix the foot straight on to the cylinder, without using the the shaft, which is great for doing stairs or car floors. The ?curtain tool is ok, but one of those things that will probably just sit in a corner and not get used.
