Unlimited 7 ProAnimal BCS71PETAU
A vacuum that motivates…

It's overwhelming how many things need to be taken into consideration when in the market for a vacuum. Thankfully, I can safely say that Bosch has succeeded in setting itself apart with its new, competent, feature-rich Unlimited 7 series vacuums.
[Performance]
Unsurprisingly, it sure packs a punch. Fine dust, stale dry dog food, rice, tissues, you name it. Eco mode usually did the trick and anything a little more troublesome was swiftly dealt with, once Turbo mode roared to life (quite literally, it was more than a couple notches louder). The only thing it struggled with was thin/narrow objects, ie twigs.
Now, most of us know that hair is the bane of the vacuuming world, so it wasn't exactly shocking, but it still hurt to find that the Unlimited 7 ProAnimal was no exception. It certainly wasn’t a slouch, consistently leaving incredibly satisfying tracks of clean carpeting in its wake and tearing away all lengths of hair strands. But in the end, the roller always succumbed to hair tangling. While the roller detachment mechanism was both intuitive and durable, my dust-aversive immune system constantly yearned for a less hands-on detangling process.
[Battery life]
Eco mode did wonders for maximising useable juice and Turbo mode consistently destroyed any notion I held on using the vacuum for any more than 10-ish minutes. Honestly, that was all to be expected. It was the Auto-mode option however, that dumbfounded me, given the bouts of unusually abysmal battery life that'd leave me wondering if I'd left it on Turbo mode instead.

Firstly, to address one of the my more salient nitpicks: The detachable batteries. I love that they exist, I love that the ProAnimal comes with a spare, and I love how easy they are to switch out, but; any added convenience is snuffed out by the charging port being built into the vacuum body and not on the detachable batteries themselves. Keeping the batteries charged up could’ve been a whole lot less cumbersome.
On a positive note, the bendable flex tube mechanism? *chef's kiss* A marvellous inclusion that injects concentrated satisfaction into cleaning sessions. The flexible extension hose tore through cobwebs, the mini power nozzle saved my bedding from clingy dog hair, the LEDs on the main head, all great (the 2in1 brush was a tad lacking though).
[Ad. notes]
An ejection-based dust-barrel empty system would minimise dust-exposure/contact. A no-drill-installation dock option would be more accessible.
