Pixel 7 Pro Hazel 128 GB
The upgrade you won't regret

Finally! I made the right choice to upgrade to the Pixel PRO range with the Pixel 7 Pro. If like me, you're thinking about upgrading from the standard range Pixel (or other branded phone) to the Pro range, you won't be disappointed. You will enjoy new features such as 5x optical zoom (Up to 30x digital), automatic macro photo mode, face unlock, faster fingerprint unlock, faster processor, and brighter screen.
None of your favourite features are being lost. Magic eraser, live translate, NFC & nearby share, plenty of local storage and easy cloud storage, and many other features, are still stock standard. This is a pure spec upgrade. You'll no doubt get new software upgrades/features on your new Pixel 7 as time passes; Google doesn't wait for a new model to release new features.
Macro mode and 5x optical zoom are the biggest upgrades for me. These features really fill in what was lacking in camera features of previous 'non-pro' generations. Both features are easily accessible on the main camera screen or, in the case of Macro, fully automatic. No more "move back to focus" pop-ups. 5x optical zoom is extremely sharp and 30x digital zoom is shockingly functional. Even when the phone is just hand-held, 30x digital zoom is smooth when aiming to take the photo and the photo at 30x is surprisingly clear.
Face unlock is also a welcome addition but it's also the reason for my 4/5 rating. It works 80% of the time - not bad for the first generation of face unlock in the pixel range. In bright, dark, or unique, lighting situations, you won't get the same reliability. Luckily, you have the ultrafast in screen fingerprint unlock as back up; If face unlock doesn't get there first go, there's very little time lost in using fingerprint unlock. Unfortunately you can only add one face scan meaning you can't add a scan for wearing a mask, glasses on/off etc. Although I feel like this might be added in a software update later.
With the extra-bright screen, there won't be a time when sunlight is too intense to see your screen. This wasn't a huge issue in previous generations, but again, this little upgrade closes the gap on usage restrictions.
The new processor makes things that little bit smoother leaving me with nothing to complain about here. In my opinion, cloud storage with Google One is a little pricey if you just want extra storage and it's disappointing Google stopped free photo storage; However, the Google One subscription does come with a few extra features.
