The dock makes the difference

A great tablet with a dock in the box – and it’s as great as it sounds.
For those that don't know, the Pixel Tablet comes with a dock in the box. It functions as a loudspeaker and as a wireless charger for the tablet, with strong magnets to ensure the device doesn't slip off or get knocked off accidentally.
Tablets for me always had the inconvenience of being out of battery as my kids would sometimes forget to plug them back in after use, but now with the Pixel Tablet, my kids are now putting it back in its ‘home’, on the dock which ensures that when someone wants to use it, it always has 100% battery and is ready to go. This simple addition has changed the way I use the tablet, and has me reaching for the tablet more so than my phone when I’m at home.
The tablet itself is a very capable device. It's light weight, easy to use, fast, fluid and has all of the android functionality you'd want out of the tablet. Multitasking is great and multiple accounts allows members of the family to have their own profiles/home screens.
Battery life I’d say is decent, I do notice it drains quite a bit when you’re playing a game on it, but again, slapping it back on the dock has it charging up, so I’ve never been totally out of battery ever. Also, when the tablet is off the dock, the dock doesn’t double as a Nest speaker or anything, so functionality is limited without the tablet on it.
Positives:
+ The dock ensures the tablet is always charged
+ The dock has great speakers
+ The tablet is fast, fluid and easy to use
+ Tablet feels great in the hand - solid build but soft to the touch
Negatives:
- Tablet battery life could be a little better
- When the tablet is not on the dock, the dock doesn’t function on its own for anything
I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review.
