Pixel Tablet (Hazel)
A tablet or a Nest product…

Straight out of the box the Pixel tablet has a nice design and feels like a quality piece of tech. The finish on the back has a really good feel in the hand and doesn’t collect fingerprints. It’s a good weight and easy to hold for watching content on the lounge or in bed.
The setup process like all google products is very easy but I made one mistake when it asked if I wanted to copy my apps and data from another device, which I did. This resulted in a tablet version of what was on my phone. I soon realised it wasn’t what I wanted and did a factory reset and started from scratch.
The stand/dock is good and easy to attach and detach the tablet but I think it lacks a bit of depth of sound. The sound from the tablet is good. I have other Google Nest products in my home so tried the docked tablet in a few locations but have settled on having it on my bedside tablet. I would consider buying an additional dock but I think they are a bit overpriced for what they are and how they perform.
It seems to perform well with apps open quickly, multitasking is easy, and the overall system responsiveness is fine. I do have a problem with apps not being optimised from the tablet format but that isn’t a fault of the tablet but the android app developers.
I’m not going to use this tablet outdoors so the screen brightness is great for indoor use and the camera isn’t something I'm going to use for any serious photo taking.
My overall feeling about this is pretty positive. I’m glad I have it in my home and it works well as a home hub for controlling my connected lights and appliances.
I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review.
