Pixel Tablet (Porcelain)
First Experience with Android…

While I have using tablet and Android phones for many years, this is the first time I had come across with Android tablet.
My first impression is the light weight of the tablet comparing to my other tablet of similar size. The grip is comfortable and not slippery. The display is good but would be much better if the refreshing rate is higher than 60Hz.
The On-Off switch also serves as a finger print reader. It is not as sensitive as I would expect.
Set-up is easy and straight forward. However, I would prefer more options for setting up wireless connection like QR code in other android phones.
I would wish there are more options in the input method. While it supports Chinese handwriting input, it is not as user friendly as my tablet or android phone.
I also found out that many Asian apps in Play Store is not supported at the moment on Pixel tablet. Hopefully, this will be resolved soon in the not too distant future.
This tablet can also be used as a photo display on the hub. But I find the lack of a micro SD card slot makes the task more troublesome. I would rather use it as an animated weather display at the living room. The frog changes its movement with different backgrounds.
I only had the tablet for a few days and there are many features for me to explore like Google Home Assistant. I purchase the first generation of Google Home from Japan 5 years ago and it is still unopened. I also received mini Home and Nest mini as gifts later. They are still unopened. Hopefully, this tablet will be the driving force to set up a smart home in my new house.
I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review
