Finally a Google tablet

Google has made it so easy to integrate various home devices so a tablet is a no brainer but strange that it took them so long.

I bought this as a replacement for my Google Home Hub. What appealed to me was the charging base is also a speaker so it basically fulfils the function of the Home Hub but is a fully fledged tablet too. Making a charging base that acts as a tablet holder and speaker is genius and why has no other brand thought of this? It attaches to the base with magnets and snaps into place easily so no fumbling. And yes there is also the usual USB-C charging port for when you're away.

Setup is mostly easy although some things could be more intuitive. For example the tips show you how to set it up as a home hub but the toggle switch was greyed out for me so I couldn't activate it. And the instructions on how to activate it didn't work. HOWEVER with the screen locked there is an icon in the corner that looks like a house. I clicked on it to see what it was and voila...it added all my home devices. And now the toggle switch in the settings for the home hub is switched on. Who in the world would have known to do it this way? So when I say some things could be more intuitive...yeah it seems like trial and error is the way.

I've only had it 1 day so my review is ongoing.

Update: So after finally managing to activate the home hub and add my home security cameras, for some reason I can't view the camera footage. It says "can't connect", although by installing the EUFY app I can view my cameras just fine so I think there's some bugs in the home hub app.

Something else which I don't think they thought about, why not make the base act like a normal google speaker when you detach the tablet? Can't be too hard, right? Right now the moment you detach the tablet your music stops playing on the base and of course it doesn't have google assistant so it becomes a brick.
